Allen is a graduate of the University of Alberta. He then completed his Masters of Business Administration in Vancouver at the Asia Pacific School of Business. He has been a longtime resident of Coquitlam, and chose to open Plateau Village Dental Centre in the community he himself lives in. Being a father to four kids of his own, he understands the importance of preventative dental care and good oral hygiene habits. He also understands the problems and pain associated with oral and maxillofacial issues and enjoys working with his patients to make a plan for healing and prevention.

Dr. Laura, as many of her patients call her, completed her dental training at the University of Toronto in 2001. She completed an additional year of advanced training in the General Practice Residency Program at Vancouver General Hospital, Children’s Hospital, and the BC Cancer Agency. She received an Award for Excellence for her outstanding achievements. Soon after, she transitioned into a family dental practice in Coquitlam.
Dr. Laura actively participates in continuing education classes and belongs to an implant study club. She takes pride in understanding patients’ needs and realizes that each patient is unique. Being a mother of two school-aged daughters, she also has a special connection with children and believes in the importance of creating a personalized, gentle and caring experience for patients of all ages.
Dr. Trevor Shen was born in Vancouver and raised in Coquitlam BC. After attending the University of British Columbia for his undergraduate degree, he was accepted into the Doctor of Dental Medicine after only three years. Dr. Trevor Shen was born in Vancouver and raised in Coquitlam BC. After attending the University of British Columbia for his undergraduate degree, he was accepted into the Doctor of Dental Medicine after only three years. While studying at The University of British Columbia, he was honored to receive the Academy of Operative Dentistry Prize during his graduating year. He is excited to be joining Plateau Village Dental Centre to serve the community he grew up in. Outside of the office he enjoys a variety of sports, both as an athlete himself as well as being a fan of basketball and hockey in particular. He also enjoys all the outdoor activities the Lower Mainland has to offer including golf, a favorite pastime shared with his father, Dr. Allen Shen.
CONTINUING TO KEEP SAFETY OUR TOP PRIORITY
We have created a detailed list of new guidelines for you to follow when you come in for appointments, for example:
– We ask you to bring a mask to wear when inside the clinic. If you do not have one, one can be provided for you
– Upon entering the clinic, you will be asked to complete a screening form
– Your temperature will be taken with a contactless thermometer
– You will be asked to use hand sanitizer when you arrive.
– We will create a directional flow for safer patient movement throughout the clinic
– We ask that patients come alone unless they need to be accompanied.
– All patients and team members are asked to maintain respectful distancing in waiting areas and in the clinical area. If we have more than 2 people in the waiting are, patients will be asked to wait outside or in their vehicle.
